CAN I BE YOUR DONKEY?
THEN YOU’LL BE MY HUMAN!
Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire is a nonprofit organization. We depend on entrance fees, profits of the souvenir shop, donations and the labor of volunteers. You can contribute by adopting a donkey via our Donkey Adoption Program LOV’ IAAAAAA. Which one of us appeals to you?

Hi there. I’ve been living in the Sanctuary for half a year now. Before that I was wandering the streets when I got hit by a car and broke my leg. Fortunately people helped me and now I am not at risk anymore. I made new friends and am totally happy.
I’m a little, ehh, restless, indeed. In my body and in my mind. And enthusiastic. Oh yes, enthusiastic I am too! So when you call me, brace yourself. Because I’ll jump into your arms with all my body and 4 legs at the same time.
It’s lovely to see you. What do you say? Does that sound a little distant? It shouldn’t because what I would actually like to say is I would like to rip off your clothes and smother you with kisses. Is that what you wanted to hear?
Halliiiaaa! You won’t find me in the front of the park. No way, I’m way in the back with a few good friends. Why? We just love the silence! Not being busy all day. Here things are like they used to be.
I project my mind in a creative manner using mantras... iiiiiiiiiiii - aaaaaaaaa. I’ll be totally in the flow then, babe. And it seems everything is flowing lighter and easier. It’s a pity we cannot use incense in the park because of the risk of fire.
Namaste. I am a spiritual donkey. My nature is very serene. I contemplate before I form an opinion and proclaim it. I meditate for at many hours a day and just let the fuss slide away from me.
I’m a lady of 16 years old and I look quite good if you don’t mind me saying so myself. I mix respectfully, I am relaxed and easy with others. On the one hand I’m very active but on the other hand I’m very quiet. Depending on how I feel that day.
They say I’m stubborn but that is totally not true. At all! I am a champion at debating, that is true. But that’s just a hobby, right, just being a little contrarian. Just fun to do.
56 inch shoulder height, 330 pounds of mass. Independent. Uncommon. Intense. Sensitive. Very physical. Sweet. Learning Spanish. Beautiful singing voice. Looking for a strong and passionate adoption parent with a heart for the world, life and especially donkeys. Is that you?
Well hello, do I have to sell myself here, on paper? No, you just have to get to know me and you’ll know enough. Where can you find me? Somewhere in the 150 acres in the middle of Bonaire, around my friends. If we’re meant for each other, we’ll meet.
A picture is worth 1000 words. So look at me…
Yes, I may come across as a tough and cool guy. And yes, I’m very muscular, one impressive donkey, a tough and cool guy for whom many step aside for a moment. But on the inside I will just meeeeelt when I see you come across, dushi. You make my heart beat faster.
Hi hi. I’m physical guy. Challenging, frolicsome, working out. Would LOVE to do MMA but can’t find a training or sparring partner. Pityyyyyy! So I just tease my companions and then run away as fast as I can. Losing some energy.
What do I do? I’m in the ecological green maintenance business, actually as long as I can remember. I like to keep up the environment here in the Sanctuary. Pruning down, processing and fertilizing. The circle of life. Beautiful business!
Yoohooo, is that you? I would love to meet a sweet guy or cool missus to start a relationship for at least a year. Someone who’d like to care not just for me but also for my friends. Fair sharing is my motto.
My name is Nic and I’ve lived in the Sanctuary since I was 1 day old. I remember feeling weak and sick, being taken together with my mom, and ending up in a safe stable. With a floor full of hay! From that moment on life only improved.
My name is Faudi and I recently came to the Sanctuary, together with my son Nic. I’ve never felt this happy and carefree! At first I was extremely worried about my little one but it’s not necessary anymore. I can see he’s safe.
Hi dear. I’m Kerry, with a treasure of life experience, in the Sanctuary for 4 years now. I think it’s lovely you’re looking at my profile but you’re very welcome to have a live encounter too. We can get to know each other a little bit then.
You know what I really like? Making crazy faces to all the cameras. I’m pretty sure I’m the most photographed donkey in the park. I see it around me: colleagues just being beautiful. That’s not for me. Vigor is what I like!
Hey you there! My friends say I’m cheerful and friendly. You’ll recognize me by my fun eyes. I’m a pretty pretty guy, if I say so myself. And still nicely young. I stay fit by running through the Sanctuary.
I’m straightforward, honest, sensitive and sincere. With 4 feet on the ground. I feel good and really enjoy myself but I’m still looking for someone who can make my heart beat passionately. That would complete my happiness here in the Sanctuary!
Choose me, choose me! At least, if you´re as enthusiastic about me as I am about you. Because then, it´s all good. I love donkeys and I love people. I love playing a little and mooching a little. Cuddle me and I start drooling.
Hello dear people. I’m a lady of a certain age. I’m the oldest around. I’ve been living in the Sanctuary for 25 (!) years so I can’t imagine anything but the safety and reliability of this place. Wonderful! By the way, I’m a multi cultural mule; my father was a donkey and my mother was a horse.
I’ve had several babies. And in spite of my age I probably am a great-grandmother. It was a beautiful time but also tough on me. I’m happy I can do my own thing now but when I see my great-grandchildren I’m very proud.
Hi, I’m Frencie and I feel like a queen. Every day cars drive through the park and when I put my head in, I get carrots. So cool! So, that’s what I do all day. And pushing away the competition. I’m the herd’s boss.
Hey hi. I was born and raised in the Sanctuary. You would think I’m an adolescent right, but actually donkeys are fully grown adults before they are 13. Hmmm. I think: 13 is the new 3. And I like it!
Hey swa… poko poko yeah, I am not the youngest anymore. Let me just hang around a little here, in the shade. When it’s dinner time I’ll be there. But I’m not worried, when I come to the dinner table the others will step aside.
Dear people. I am a woman who has experienced life. A lot. But I carry my burden with pride. Alhough I can be a little sad sometimes, I grew because of it and I use that wisdom in my social contacts in the Sanctuary.
Iaaaa, I’m a young bloke and like to jump around. Teasing the elderly a little. Hihi. But when it comes to down it I can be rather modest and I understand I cannot be a boss (yet). By the way, when you cuddle me I will stand still for a minute!!
Let us know by filling in the form on THIS PAGE which donkey you´d like to adopt and we´ll arrange for it.
Thank you very much for your support.
We can use it well.
