During my 6 months at the sanctuary as a volunteer I learned a lot from both the donkeys and Marina and the great team.
The amount of love and passion that can be found in this sanctuary is unbelievable.
And that's partly why I stayed for 6 months instead of 3 months to help!
The houses which are available for the volunteers are super nice and have everything you need. Everyone is very well looked after. And the love you get back from the donkeys is why I chose to volunteer here.
It's hard work, but a lot of fun and it's really nice to see all the donkeys happy every day. Especially if a donkey has been very ill, it is still wonderful to see them completely healthy again.
So if you want to go for a very nice challenge, where you will learn a lot and you really like to roll up your sleeves, then I definitely recommend a period as a volunteer at the donkey sanctuary Bonaire!
